As indicated by its name, the PiX 417 features a 4″ wide by 17″ long active sensor area, making it ideal for imaging cylindrical vessels and pipelines. Built for field use in extreme NDT environments, the PiX 417C delivers outstanding performance with Pulse Potential X-Ray, Constant Potential X-Ray, and Gamma Ray sources.
At Pacific NDT, we focus on delivering a seamless plug-and-play experience with our products, ensuring long-term reliability to help customers maximize their ROI.
Product Details
The PiX 417C is a bendable panel detector engineered with flexible, durable materials, allowing it to conform seamlessly to curved or irregular surfaces like pipelines and cylindrical objects. Its innovative design ensures the detector bends without sacrificing image quality or performance.
PiX Bendable detectors provide enhanced versatility for inspecting non-flat surfaces, offering superior positioning and improved image accuracy for specialized applications.
Our entire detector range is fully integrated with PiX acquisition software, which is continuously optimized to add value to our customers. The software includes essential features such as viewing, annotation, measurement, post-processing, storage, export, and advanced capabilities like NDT PACS (Picture Archiving & Communication System) and ADR (Assisted Defect Recognition).
The PiX software seamlessly connects with the PiX NDT PACS Server, allowing captured data to be transferred and stored on a centralized system. Users can retrieve images through a client-based software interface, which offers direct control of various X-ray models, enhancing field usability.
The PiX 417C supports both Single Frame and Multi-Frame capture modes, with adjustable durations from 3 to 180 seconds per frame. The frame count is easily configurable via the software.
Upon launching the software, the detector automatically connects and displays critical information such as battery life, connection status, and Wi-Fi status. Additionally, the PiX 417C supports both wired and wireless operation, offering flexibility in diverse inspection scenarios.
- Adaptability to Complex Surfaces: PiX 417C Bendable detector conforms to curved and irregular surfaces like pipelines and cylindrical vessels, allowing for more effective inspection of welds and corrosion-prone areas.
- High-Resolution Imaging: Despite its flexibility, 417C provides high-quality, high-resolution images, ensuring accurate detection of flaws, cracks, or corrosion, which is critical for maintaining safety standards.
- Durability in Harsh Environments: Designed to operate in extreme conditions such as high temperatures, humidity, and exposure to chemicals typical in oil and gas fields, ensuring reliable performance in tough environments.
- Improved Accessibility: 417C’s flexible design makes it easier to inspect hard-to-reach or confined spaces, enhancing the scope of inspection, particularly in remote or challenging areas.
- Versatile X-ray Compatibility: It works effectively with different X-ray sources, including Pulse Potential, Constant Potential, and Gamma Rays, providing versatility in inspection methods.
- Wireless and Wired Flexibility: 417C can function in both wired and wireless modes, offering convenience and flexibility in various field conditions and inspection setups.
- Increased Efficiency: The integration with advanced software for data management, including features like Assisted Defect Recognition (ADR) and PACS, streamlines the inspection process and enables real-time analysis and decision-making.
- Reduction of Inspection Downtime: The ability to quickly conform to various surfaces and capture high-quality images reduces the time needed for inspections, leading to faster turnarounds and less downtime for critical infrastructure.
- Long-Term ROI: With its robust construction and advanced capabilities, bendable detectors offer long-term durability and reliability, maximizing return on investment (ROI) for oil and gas companies by reducing the need for frequent equipment replacements for CR users or film purchase for conventional radiography users.
These advantages make Pacific NDT’s bendable detectors particularly suited for the demanding needs of oil and gas NDT applications.
